Easter pics

We had a fun Easter this year. We went to the ward easter egg hunt on Saturday. Jason was totally excited to find eggs because we have been reading lots of Easter books lately. Having researched the subject, he developed a strategy to maximize his egg gathering. He knew he was not allowed to peek while the eggs were being hidden, but he planned to look "next to trees, by the rocks, and in the grass".

Here we are at the park. J-dog was rarin' to go. We were supposed to have lunch before the egg hunt, but he would just eat one tiny bite of his sandwich and then say "and now I am done- now I can look for eggs! Come on!!!" It was very hard for him to wait.

And he's off! The group decided to have a smaller hunt area for the kids 4 and under which was a really good idea. Those bigger kids ripped through their area in about 3 seconds. Jason dominated his group in terms of egg uptake, though, probably because he was the only two year old with a plan. Most of the eggs were, indeed, by the trees, in the grass and next to rocks.

Everyone got lots of loot. There was even one egg with a five dollar bill in it. The kids had a blast :).

Brett had a great time too, but I think he enjoyed the lunch the most.

The next morning Jason discovered that the Easter bunny had left a trail of jelly beans for him to follow. Behind the couch he found a basket containing a NINJA! He was not too surprised, though, because he went out of his way to tell the mall Easter bunny that he expected a ninja car in his basket.

Easter is awesome. Maybe next year we'll try to throw a little religion in there, too :).
