A New School Year

We have started another school year! Jason is in 2nd grade with Mrs. Phillips.

Brett is in Kindergarten with Mrs. Grist.

They get to see each other for a few minutes at lunch/ recess break everyday. Brett says his favorite part of the day is meeting with Jason at the gate.

Three cuties all ready for school.  Cara is doing a cooperative preschool on Mondays and Thursdays with me and some other women from the ward and also goes to Miss Stefanie's mini camps on Tuesday mornings. It has been pretty busy!

Cara likes to play tetherball, but she doesn't like it when the ball bonks her in the nose!

Jason had a big birthday! Eight years old!

He woke up before dawn to check out his loot.

He just wanted french toast for breakfast. See how dark it is outside? That's because it is 5:30 am.

This picture captures the excitement of the piƱata.

Opening gifts.

He got a Mindstorms lego set! He has talked about nothing else for months. He can build and program robots to follow simple instructions.

Three bad boys in matching shirts.

Jason wanted me to make him a cake this year. It isn't beautiful, but it tasted really good! (unlike the last cake I made which was not good)

Happy Birthday, Jason! Eight years has gone by in a flash!

The boys had another tae kwon do tournament. They both did great!

It was Brett's first tournament.

They each beat one kid and lost to one kid and both took home silver. It was a fun day!

They built a big Bass Pro Shops near our house. It is pretty amazing. They have lots of fun activities for the kids to do- I think they even let them fish for real fish in the pond a couple of times a year.

I took them BB gun shooting there. It was very exciting.

Brett shot his paper clean off the holder!

Next stop: this cute eight year old gets baptized! We are excited to see our families and enjoy a special day together.

I can't believe how quickly these kiddos are growing up! I enjoy watching them learn and grow and develop their unique personalities.
