The kids finished up the school year! The boys (and I) successfully completed second grade and kindergarten. I think it was a great school year for both of them. The last week of school is totally pointless. It is a party every day, beginning with Hawaiian day. This is, unfortunately, the closest we have ever been to a Hawaiian vacation!
Cara didn't want to be left out, so she wore her Hawaiian dress to Miss Stefanie's day camp. She looks so cute, I can't choose just one picture!
I just can't believe how big she is getting. She is so much fun.
Love this cute girl and her happy smile!
Brett with his Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Grist. She was a really good teacher for him!
Officially a Kindergarten graduate!
On to bigger and better things!
The weather has been so strange this year. It was raining on the last day of school which is very unusual!
On a side note, aren't these roses and peonies gorgeous together!
McDonalds had the cutest happy meal toys. Brett and Cara are crazy about stuffed animals, so for about two weeks we headed over there almost every day to see if we could collect them all. Fortunately, they let you just buy the toys separately. I didn't feed them McDonalds for two weeks!
It was very exciting. We got them all except the monkey (darn it!) We are good friends with the employees there, now.
We decided to take another trip to Disneyland for our summer vacation. It is so close and relatively inexpensive for a quick trip. I think we finally figured out how to conquer Disneyland. It involved waking up at 5:45, though. This time we stayed at the Grand California Hotel which is right next to the park. It made a big difference because staying at the hotel also means you can go to the park an hour before it opens every day. We got up super early, ran to the park and were able to ride all of the major rides without waiting in long lines. We were done by around 10:30, so we just went back to the hotel and rested until late afternoon. We went back in and rode a few more rides and watched some shows. It was a great trip even if we were all exhausted at the end of it!
Waiting to get into the park at 6am!
Cara had so much fun this year! She LOVED the Little Mermaid ride- we went on it 4 or 5 times in a row! She also loved the carousel and Cars land. She had a great time.
Me and my little cutie.
Brett really wanted to eat at Ariel's Grotto for a fancy dinner.
Brett and Cara waiting in line for Autotopia.
I love riding the roller coasters with Jason! We have so much fun getting a little bit scared together!
Meeting Cruise Ramirez from the Cars movie.
The boys on Splash Mountain! Looks like they are having fun to me! We also stayed one night in Great Wolf Lodge at the end of our trip. Cara just loves Great Wolf Lodge! It has been nice for Derek to have a vacation- next week the boys are off to Detroit!
