Chrismas 2014

Cara at the Ward Christmas Party all dressed up in furs.

We had a rainbow Christmas tree this year.  The ornaments effectively cover up all the star wars and star trek ships flying around in there.

Jason got to be Fritz in the Kindergarden production of the Nutcracker. He was scheduled to be a mouse, but the other kid who was going to be Fritz got stage fright and Jason volunteered to replace him.  He was thrilled because he no longer had to wear face paint, but worried about skipping with a girl he didn't know. I have never seen a kid so excited about a bathrobe and slippers.  He picked them out himself and wore them around the house for a whole week before the play.

He did a great job and enjoyed every second of it!

The play was so cute.  All of the kids were adorable in their costumes.

We had a Christmas Eve party and invited some friends from the ward.  We played some really silly games, but I think everyone had a lot of fun!  For the first game, each team had to dress one of its members up as either a snowman or a christmas tree.

Our snowman was pretty lame but slightly terrifying.

The Burtzs created a truly adorable christmas tree.

Ryan, Julie and Cody were the clear winners of the snowman competition.

The winner of the christmas trees!  So cute.

The next game involved a pair of pantyhose, balloons, and a red rudolph nose. The first team to blow up and stuff the pantyhose with all the balloons, put the "antlers" on their representative's head, and sing the first verse of jingle bells while wearing a red nose was the winner.  This guy took the prize.

Jason was adorable, but not fast enough.

I don't know what went wrong here.

Cody was a technically superior reindeer, but this was a timed test.

Brett really, really wanted to be a reindeer, too.

Another adorable reindeer from the Burdons.

The final game involved wearing a tissue box around the waist.  The box was filled with jingle bells and snowballs and the participants had to dance all the jingle bells out of the box using hip shaking dance moves.  The first one to get rid of all the jingle bells was the winner.  I didn't get pictures, but I did get a pretty cute video of that game!

We ended the night with our traditional semi-blasphemous nativity reenactment.

The three wise men.

It really was a lot of fun!  I think we will have to do it again next year!

We were too busy opening presents to get many Christmas morning pictures, but we had a great time.  It was really nice to be able to celebrate with the Liaus.

Cara got a Ton Ton for Christmas!  She has no choice but to become a Star Wars fan!
