Easter!

Brett was very excited for his preschool spring hat parade. It was fun to make a cute Easter hat for him to wear. He is such a cute and happy kid- he broke rank in his parade to run up and give me a hug, and he was grinning and waving the entire time. You just can't help smiling back at Brett. He loves to have fun and be a little silly, but he is also very well behaved and sweet.

He got to eat lots of treats and go on an egg hunt!

Brett made a hat at school but Cara got ahold of it in the car and destroyed it. Brett was really upset and crying, so Jason made him a new hat when we got home. It has a picture of Jason and Brett and he wrote "I love you" on it.  They fight sometimes, but Brett and Jason are best buddies.

We ended up with three different egg dying kits to try out this year. It was fun but a little stressful managing three kids and lots of potentially staining dye. It was fun to see how they all turned out, though.

Also, glue and glitter.  Because dye isn't messy enough.

We also painted some eggs.  We went all out!

So, Derek has been teasing the kids and telling them if they don't behave they might just get rabbit droppings for Easter.  The kids did ok, but Derek woke up to find this from the Easter bunny. 

Jason found his basket pretty quickly. Brett took a little longer and there were some panicked tears as he thought maybe the bunny forgot about him this year. These things are stressful for a four year old.

Cara's was hidden under a table and she bonked her head trying to get to it. That mean bunny booby-trapped her basket. She cheered up when she figured out there was chocolate in it, though. There were quite a few tears this Easter, but everyone ended up happy. This sneaky little girl pushed chairs around and climbed up tables the rest of the day to eat the boy's easter candy. I would catch her being quiet as a mouse with her face covered in stolen chocolate. She would burst into tears every time I took it away from her.

Grandma Liau sent Cara this pretty Easter dress. She looked darling.

The highlight of Easter was definitely the egg hunt. They boys were so excited. There were legos in them, of course. You would think legos would lose their appeal after awhile, but it sure hasn't happened yet.

That is pure egg hunting joy right there.

We got a Honeybaked ham for dinner and I made cheesy potatoes, orange rolls and ambrosia salad that no one liked but me :).

We had a lovely Easter, and it was especially nice to watch General Conference during the day. I am grateful for the miracle of Christ's atonement, and I am grateful for the wisdom and kindness of the church's leaders. I am grateful for the guidance we are given so that we can lead happy and meaningful lives. I am grateful for the knowledge that our family can be together for eternity.

Spring break is this week and we have been doing lots of fun activities. We went out to eat breakfast at Stacks, one of our favorite restaurants.

We have made several trips to my least favorite place, the jungle.

We visited the Children's Discovery Museum today.

They had a cool Viet Nam exhibit.

I love hanging out with these three characters! They definitely keep me on my toes.
